About Hadhrat Abu Bakr (ra), First Caliph of Islam:

„No one has been a better Companion to me than Abu Bakr“. (These were the words of the Holy Prophet in his last sermon, about the Companion who will feature in this issue.)

Abdullah Ibn Abbas (ra) was asked about the righteous caliphs. Then he characterized Abu Bakr (ra):

„Allah graced Abu Bakr. I swear, he followed the Quran, did not do any turpitudes, feared Allah, he prayed at night and fast by day, was strongwilled to be lawful and to be faultless, he ordered to be good, he was thankful in any circumstance, thought about Allah by coming and going. …“

About Hadhrat Umar (ra), Second Caliph of Islam

Hadhrat Abu Bakr (ra) in his last days:

„I appoint Umar Ibn Al-Hattab as your ruler. I have the best in mind for you. I hope he will lawful and truthfully.“ Than he asked the muslims if they agree.

Than Abu Bakr called Umar to his bed and said:

„Umar! I appoint you to Khalifa after me. My last advice is, fear Allah and you should work for the welfare of the muslims. You have to do the most important things at first and remember your responsibilities. On the judgement Day only those will triumphant who act good.
